Golden Gate Restaurant will be ringing in the Chinese New Year, Year of the Rat, the first animal sign of 12 Earthly Order (Lunar year 4717), and celebrating it’s 40th year in Waukesha with a FREE Lion Dance Show in the parking lot and inside the restaurant on Saturday, January 25th from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.

Chinese New Year Lion Dance Activities

• There will be a Lion Dance Show performed by the ShaoLin Center of Waukesha
• Music
• Firecrackers (200,000 firecrackers – Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, State Representative Scott Allen, Waukesha County Supervisor Kathleen Cummings and others will be lighting the firecrackers to ring in the New Year)
• They will be handing out Red Envelopes stuffed with “Lucky Money” ($1 to $100 bills – while they last) and bamboo 2020 calendars (while they last).

Chinese New Year is the most celebrated and colorful Chinese event, the lunar new year 4717 begins on January 25, 2020, the celebration last for 7 days. Billions of people in China and around the world will take to the streets to celebrate the Chinese New Year with bell ringing, lighting of firecracker and watching lion dances.
